Born in Messina, March 27, 1947, graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Messina
a thesis in experimental analytical character on “antioxidant isochinoloina quinoline and their derivatives on
acidity l – acid.
In April 1975 was appointed Assistant Professor at the Chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Toxicology,
Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Messina, in which he taught courses in assisting teachers Tutorials
Medicinal Chemistry I and II course in completion of lessons and exercises.
In 1977 he took part in a competition for qualifications and tests to the post of assistant role at the
Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Messina,
earning the suitability.
In 1982 he specialized in “Microanalysis primary computer” then follow refresher courses and further
education.
From 1983 to 1986 he worked with the Institute for the Transformation and accumulation of energy Messina
of the National Research Council in the development of UV spectrophotometric techniques and I.R.
advanced.
Researcher confirmed the appointment has fulfilled the tasks and supplementary educational activities and
educational seminars, allocated annually by the Faculty of Pharmacy, relating to the teachings of Practice of
Medicinal Chemistry for the IInd Degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Analysis II for the
Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology for the Academic Year 92/93 and later analysis practice
Medicines II course for the Degree in Pharmacy and Drugs Analysis I for the Degree in Chemistry and
Pharmaceutical Technology and continuously with the Academic Year 93/94 2000/2001 Academic Analysis
of medicines for the IInd Degree in Pharmacy and Drugs Analysis I for the Degree in Chemistry and
Pharmaceutical Technology .
He also held seminars for instrumental analysis and qualitative and quantitative theoretical and practical
lectures on advanced spectroscopic techniques and spectrophotometry.
Since the academic year 1991/92 to 2008/09 has been granted without interruption by the Faculty of
Pharmacy of the ‘University of Messina, the expectation of a temporary teaching “Analytical Chemistry for
the degree course in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology and the academic year 1998/99 to 2008/09,
the teaching of “Chemistry Laboratory” to the same degree course.
In 1993 he was invited to be part of the Editorial Board of the journal Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin
“Editorial Pharmaceutical Society of Milan and in 1995, the foundation of the journal BCF International
Publishing Company thereof.
From January 1994 to 1996 was a research associate at the Institute of spectroscopic techniques Messina of
the National Research Council.
In July 1994 he has been member organizer of the International Conference Ia “Scaling Concepts and
Complex Fluids” and in June 2001 the 9th meeting on Recent Developments in Pharmaceuthical Analysis.
It was appointed, with D.R. No. 46, 01/03/2001, after the competition, Associate Professor in the SSD C07X
“Medicinal Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Messina.
To date, is in charge of Analysis of Drugs I, renamed the 2009/10 Drug Analysis II for the Degree in
Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology, deputizing for the Academic Year 2001/2002 Academic Year
2006 / 2007 Analytical Chemistry is the Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology for the Degree
in Quality Control in the pharmaceutical industry and nutrition, Toxicology and Environmental Sciences and
Technology and Herbal Medicine, the Academic 2003/2004 for the School of Specialization in Hospital
Pharmacy, holder of the teachings of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Applied ceased during the Academic Year
2008/09 and to date the Drug Analysis II course.
2001-2002 Coordinator of the Academic Council has Degree in Quality Control in the pharmaceutical
industry and Dietetics.
